POTSDAM -- Jackie Dufresne (Lake View/Frontier) scored her third goal of the game with just eight seconds remaining to lift visiting Buffalo State to an 8-7 victory over Potsdam today in a SUNYAC game.

Dufresne led the Bengals with three goals and an assist, and Alanna Herne (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) added two goals and two assists. Christina Standinger (Palmyra/Palmyra-Macedon) added a pair of goals, while Morgan Hogue (Painted Post/Corning) had a goal and an assist, and Christina Krowel (Amsterdam/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) chipped in a pair of helpers. The Bengals took a 6-0 run into the intermission, including a goal by Herne with one second remaining in the half to lead 6-2 at the break.

Potsdam adjusted in the second half and scored the first four goals to even the score at 6-6, holding the Bengals scoreless for more than 25 minutes. Buffalo State finally scored with just over four minutes remaining, but the Bears answered quickly to even the score at 7-7 with 3:12 left on the clock. Potsdam corralled the ensuing draw control, but after a failed offensive possession, the Bengals took control setting up Dufresne's winning tally. Elyse Stark (Lido Beach/Long Beach) played the first half, allowing just two goals with six saves. Megan Doyle (Palmyra/Palmyra-Macedon) played the final 30 minutes, conceding five goals with two stops.
