BUFFALO -- Sophomore Ally Power hit a bloop single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning, sending the Bulls to a 4-3 comeback victory in extra innings over Western Michigan.  Sophomore Catrell Robertson had a pair of huge hits, leading the Bulls to the comeback in their home opener at Nan Harvey Field.

Junior Charlotte Miller was again impressive in the circle as she did not allow an earned run until the top of the ninth inning.  The Broncos scored first in the third on a double and a botched fielding error on the throw back into the infield.

Power doubled to lead off the third, which remained UB's only hit until the seventh inning.  Western Michigan scored on another Buffalo miscue in the field in the top of the seventh to take a 2-0 lead, but that was erased with one swing off the bat of Robertson.  Junior Danielle Lallos singled to left field to open the inning and then Robertson sent one over the right center field fence, tying the game up at 2-2 and putting the contest into extra innings for the second straight game.

Neither team threatened in the eighth, but then Western Michigan took the lead back in the ninth on an RBI double from Brooke Wyman.  UB came right back in the bottom half of the inning as Jessica Goldyn hit an infield single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt.  Robertson again came through as she doubled to left field, scoring Goldyn.

Freshman Jenelle Martinez then dumped a double in to right field and an intentional walk loaded the bases up with just one out.  Power then stepped to the dish and she was able to place a perfect infield single, scoring pinch runner Taylor Scott with the game-winning run.

Miller struck out eight as she allowed just one earned run in 9.0 innings of work to pick up her third win of the year.  Robertson finished 2-for-4 from the plate with three runs batted in, while Power also went 2-for-4 from the plate with an RBI.  UB had six of its seven hits in the seventh inning or later.

The Bulls will remain home on Wednesday afternoon when they host Akron at 2 p.m.
