Jamestown man charged with drugged driving, possession


JAMESTOWN -- A 19-year-old Jamestown man was charged Thursday with driving while ability impaired by drugs, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.

According to New York State Police, Alex Wall drove through a road check on Route 60 and was stopped for a loud muffler. While speaking to Wall, the Troopers smelled marijuana in the vehicle. He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests and transported to SP Jamestown where he was evaluated by a State Police Drug Recognition Expert and determined to be under the influence of marijuana. Wall was also found to be in possession of concentrated cannabis, two grams of marijuana and a marijuana smoking device.

He was processed, issued tickets returnable to the Town of Ellicott Court and released with orders to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court later in the month to answer the charges.
