Jamestown man charged with trying to fake-out police

JAMESTOWN -- A 27-year-old Jamestown man was charged Tuesday with second-degree obstruction and false personation, accused of giving police a false name during a previous run-in with the law.

According to New York State Police, on a traffic stop a few days prior, Sparks, who did not produce any identification, identified himself with a different name to the Troopers on scene. Jamestown police later verified using a previous mug shot that the subject in question was Brandon Sparks and that Sparks had warrants for Assault and Criminal Mischief. Sparks was arrested on the warrants and transported to the Jamestown Police Department.

He was processed at SP Jamestown for the State Police charges and issued appearance tickets to appear in the City of Jamestown Court later in the month to answer the charges.
