Living your best with dementia

BUFFALO -- Receiving a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease or another dementia is never easy, and it is life changing. Those who get such a diagnosis often experience a range of emotions and may feel confused, alone and isolated. But that does not have to be the case.

The Alzheimer's Association Western New York Chapter is offering a unique program for those recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, mild cognitive impairment, or another related dementia. “Living Your Best with Dementia” will run for a limited time, and will include education about the disease, information about community support services, care planning opportunities and social interaction with those facing a similar challenge.

Meetings will take place in the Chapter’s Williamsville office and at various community locations.

The program is expected to start in the fall of 2017 and will run on a monthly basis for a limited number of meetings. Those interested in participating, or learning more about other local programs and services, should call 1.800.272.3900 during traditional business hours.
