Bills fall in first round, 10-3

STAFF REPORTS

Buffalo’s first playoff game in 17 seasons provided much hype in the week preceding it, but provided very little in terms of scoring. Unfortunately, the Jacksonville Jaguars had just a bit more scoring, besting the Bills 10-3.

With matching field goals in the first half, the game began anew in the third quarter when Jacksonville cashed in on what proved to be their only red zone scoring chance as Blake Bortles found TE Ben Koyack on fourth-and-goal from the one-yard line near the end of the third quarter.

The Bills deepest penetration in the second half was the Jacksonville 48 as they never threatened to score again.

A last-ditch drive by the Bills with 1:51 remaining only got as far as midfield as Nathan Peterman, on in relief of an injured Tyrod Taylor, was intercepted on a 2nd-and-20 play from the Bills 48-yard line.

The Jaguars will face the Steelers in Pittsburgh in the AFC Divisional round next week.
