NU women's hoops kick off Connecticut road trip at Fairfield

Last Time Out
  • A second half surge lifted the Purple Eagles over Iona, 73-59, in their MAAC opener on Dec. 30. It was the first time NU had defeated the Gaels since 2012.
  • Victoria Rampado led Niagara with a career-high 28 points. She also had a team-high nine rebounds.
  • Jamie Sherburne had a team-high eight assists and Maggie McIntyre led the Purple Eagles with three steals.
  • The win was NU's third straight and the Purple Eagles outscored the Gaels 45-13 in the second half of the game.
 
Niagara In The MAAC
  • The Purple Eagles are the second-highest scoring offense in the MAAC, averaging 66.3 points per game.
  • Niagara leads the MAAC in free throw percentage (79.0%), second in field goal percentage (40.5%) and third in 3-point field goal percentage (31.5%).
  • Victoria Rampado leads the league in scoring with 20.4 points per game and is second in rebounding with 9.2 rebounds per game.
  • Jamie Sherburne leads the MAAC in assists, averaging 4.5 assists per game. She is also second in free throw percentage (89.5%).
  • Maggie McIntyre leads the MAAC in 3-point field goal percentage (54.3%).
 
Rampado Named MAAC Player Of The Week
  • Victoria Rampado was named MAAC Player of the Week for the second time this season on Tuesday, Dec. 26 following the Purple Eagles' 2-0 week against Buffalo and Colgate.
  • Rampado tied her career-high with 27 points against Buffalo and recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 22 points and 11 rebounds against Colgate. On the week, she averaged 24.5 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per game.
  • Rampado was also named MAAC Player of the Week on Monday, Nov. 27 following her performance in the South Point Shootout.
  • Rampado led her team in both scoring and rebounding in both the Purple Eagles' games in the tournament. She averaged 23.0 points per game, 9.5 rebounds per game and 1.5 steals per game. She went 15-for-28 from the field (53.6%) and 15-for-16 (93.8%) from the charity stripe.

On The Court
Fairfield Stags (4-8, 1-0 MAAC)
  • Forward Samantha Cooper leads the Stags in both scoring and rebounding with 15.2 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game. She leads the MAAC in rebounding and is fifth in the conference in scoring.
  • Forward Khadidiatou Diouf and guard Sam Kramer also average in double figure scoring. Diouf averages 10.8 points per game and Kramer averages 11.2 points per game.
  • Guard Kendra Landy is fifth in the MAAC in assists, averaging 3.7 per game, and guard Sam Kramer is third in the conference in 3-point field goals made with 26 total and an average of 2.2 3-pointers per game.
