NU's Rampado earns 3rd MAAC Player of the Week honors

EDISON, N.J. – Forward Victoria Rampado has been named MAAC Player of the Week after an impressive week that included a 41-point effort against Siena on Jan. 7. This is the third time this season Rampado has earned MAAC weekly honors.

Rampado recorded double-doubles in all three games on the week, and leads the MAAC with eight total double-doubles on the season.

Against Fairfield on Jan. 2, Rampado led the Purple Eagles with 15 points and 15 rebounds and against Quinnipiac on Jan. 4, she scored 20 points and brought down 10 rebounds.

Rampado had a breakout game at Siena on Jan. 7, dropping a career-high 41 points. It is the most points by a MAAC player this season, second-most points scored in a single game in NU women's basketball history and is tied for seventh-most in MAAC women's basketball history. Rampado's performance is only the eighth 40-plus point game in MAAC history.

Rampado also had 15 rebounds against Siena to tie her career-high and made 17 of 23 field goals, which is tied for the fourth-most made field goals in MAAC history.

On the week, Rampado averaged 25.3 points per game and 13.3 rebounds per game. She leads the MAAC in scoring (21.4 points per game), is second in the conference in rebounding (10.0 rebounds per game) and has the third-best field goal percentage (47.9%).

The Purple Eagles are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 3:00 p.m. when they host the Manhattan Jaspers.
