The Canisius men's lacrosse team returns its focus to MAAC play Saturday with a road contest at league-rival Marist.

Opening faceoff for the matchup between the Golden Griffins and the Red Foxes is set for Noon at Tenney Stadium in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

Scouting Canisius
• The Golden Griffins (4-4, 1-0 MAAC) head into Saturday's contest looking to get back into the win column after suffering a 19-9 setback to Hobart Tuesday at the Demske Sports Complex.
• Senior Connor Kearnan continues to pace the Canisius attack, leading the team in both assists (27) and points (42). Kearnan entered the program's top 10 list for assists in a season with his two helpers in the Griffs' matchup with Hobart on Tuesday.
• Sophomore midfielder Carter Stefaniak is second on the team in scoring with 25 points. Stefaniak is tied with fellow sophomore Mathieu Boissionneault for the team lead with 18 goals.
• Senior Steven Coss is third on the Griffs' scoring chart with 24 points (10 g, 14a). Coss is the reigning MAAC Offensive Player of the Week after recording 10 points (4g, 6a) in road contests against No. 1 Albany and Siena last week.
• Senior Liam Ganzhorn has started all eight games in goal for Canisius this season, posting a 14.48 goals against average and a .417 save percentage in 464 minutes of work. Ganzhorn has recorded double-digit saves in each of the Griffs' last four contests.
• Canisius has made the most of its shot attempts this season as it ranks second nationally in shooting percentage (.379). The Griffs have shot better than 32 percent from the field in all eight of their games this season.

Hobart Defeats Men's Lacrosse in Midweek Matchup
• Chris Aslanian and Justin Scott combined for 11 goals to lead Hobart to a 19-9 victory over Canisius in collegiate men's lacrosse action Tuesday at the Demske Sports Complex.
• The Statesmen used a pair of runs during each half to record their eighth straight victory over the Griffs.
• Senior Connor Kearnan tallied a season-high four goals and added two assists while sophomore Mathieu Boissonneault pitched in two goals and an assist for the Golden Griffins (4-4).
• Hobart out-shot Canisius by a 46-19 margin on Tuesday, highlighted by a 16-2 margin in the third quarter.
• The Statesmen won 24-of-31 faceoffs on Tuesday, including 11-of-13 draws contested in the second half.
• Canisius was held to single-digit goals for just the second time this season with its nine-goal effort on Tuesday.
• Senior Connor Kearnan recorded his third hat trick of the season and 16th of his career with his four-goal effort on Tuesday.
• Kearnan moved pass Scott Ronson (1994-97) into sole possession of 10th place on the program's all-time scoring chart with his six-point effort on Tuesday as he has amassed 138 points during his Canisius career.
• Senior Liam Ganzhorn recorded double-digit saves for the fifth time this season and 19th time in his career with his 11-save effort on Tuesday.

Scouting Marist
• The Red Foxes (2-8, 1-1 MAAC) head into Saturday's matchup looking to build off a 12-4 victory versus Manhattan at Tenney Stadium.
• Gannon Morrison leads the Marist attack, pacing the squad in goals (17), assists (16) and points (33).
• Jason Intermesoli and Joe Tierney are tied for second on the team's scoring chart with 16 points each. Intermesoli is second on the squad with 12 goals while Tierney ranks second with 10 assists.
• Brian Corrigan has started all 10 games in goal for the Red Foxes, posting a 10.71 goals against average and a .534 save percentage in 571 minutes of action. Corrigan was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week after recording 17 saves in a 12-4 victory over Manhattan last Saturday.

Canisius-Marist Series Notes
• In a series that began during the Griffs' inaugural season of 1990, Marist holds a 15-11 advantage against Canisius.
• Marist has held the edge in recent contests, winning four of the last six matchups dating back to the 2013 campaign.
• The road team has won three of the last seven meetings and four of the last nine contests. Prior to the current nine-game run, the home team was 14-2 in the series.
• The teams split their two matchups last season as the Griffs posted a 17-6 victory over the Red Foxes in their regular-season matchup in early March before Marist got revenge with an 8-5 victory in the semifinals of the MAAC Championship at Tenney Stadium in May.

• Canisius returns home April 7 to host MAAC opponent Detroit Mercy in a 7 p.m. contest at the Demske Sports Complex.
