Canisius outdoor track closes out Bucknell Bison Invite

LEWISBURG, P.A. -- The Canisius outdoor track program wrapped up the Bucknell Bison Classic, as junior Siobhan Quinn placed first in the women's 5,000-meter event with her time of 18:10.93. 

The Blue and Gold saw other strong performances, including the women's 3,000-meter event, with junior Kayla Stewart placing 13th (10:37.25) and freshman Emily Scheck finishing in 19th (10:54.57). Senior Livia Chase also had a standout performance with her eighth place (38:50.2) finish in the women's 10,000-meter race.

On the men's side, freshman Connor Doran placed ninth in the men's 3k event with a time of 9:01.83, while fellow freshman Turner Dirrigl (9:02.45) and Jordan Obrochta (9:09.52) finished tenth and 15th respectively.

Also running well for the men was senior Jeff Antolos who ran to an 13th-place finish in the 10,000-meter event with a time of 30:18.97. Antolos time qualified him for the IC4A Championship  and he now owns the third best time in school history. Donny Glavin qualified for the IC4A's as well, with his 22nd place finish (14:41.9) in the 5,000-meter event.

"For the first competition of the Outdoor season, we had several student-athletes run well. They responded to the high level of competition with strong opening races, which bodes well for the remainder of our meets" said head coach Nate Huckle.

The relay squad of sophomore Marcus Brown, junior Paul Henry, sophomore Nick Neamtu, and junior Justin Vestri, closed out the weekend for the Griffs with their second place finish in the men's 4x800 event with a time of 7:56.17.

The Griffs will have nearly two weeks to prepare for their next event, taking part in the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. on Thursday April 26.
