UB women’s basketball inks Aireal Dickson to Letter of Intent

UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO ATHLETICS

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- University at Buffalo women's basketball head coach Felisha Legette-Jack announced the signing of Aireal Dickson to a National Letter of Intent on Monday morning. Dickson will join the Bulls for the 2018-19 campaign after finishing off her high school career in Illinois.
"We are thrilled to have Aireal Dickson join our Buffalo family," said head coach Felisha Legette-Jack. "She will bring her defensive intensity, ball handling prowess and court vision to our squad to help us achieve our goals. She is very committed to our CAB approach (character, academics, basketball) which makes her an instant asset to our program."

Dickson comes to the Bulls after a successful high school career at Homewood-Flossmoor high school in Illinois. During her senior campaign, Dickson averaged 15.0 points and 5.0 assists while netting a season-high 29 points. The ultra-quick point guard was a 2017-18 McDonald's All-American game nominee while also earning Fourth Team IBCA All-State honors and Second Team Daily Southtown Girls basketball Team honors.
As a junior, Dickson helped guide Homewood-Flossmoor to the #6 ranking in the state as they finished the season with a 20-3 overall record. She also helped her team advance to the Elite 8 in the Illinois State tournament. The athletically-gifted guard was also a member of the Midwest Elite AAU squad, who belong to the Nike Girls Elite Youth Basketball League (GEYBL).
"Dickson is the final piece of our impressive six-player recruiting class that will help continue the journey to new found heights here at Buffalo."
Dickson joins a highly touted recruiting class for the upcoming 2018-19 campaign. These six student-athletes will have the opportunity for playing time right away as the Bulls lost a five-player senior class, the most successful senior class in program history, due to graduation this season.
