The  season from Memorial Day to Labor Day is also known as the "100 Deadliest Days." During this time, deadly crashes involving teen drivers climb 15% compared to the rest of the year.

New drivers, 16 to 17, are three times as likely as adults to be involved in a deadly crash, according to research from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.

It's important to provide young drivers with skills and knowledge to stay safe behind the wheel. It's equally important for parents to set a good example. "Parents are also a front line of defense. If they stay off their cell phones and buckle up, then teens will follow."
