Traffic stop leads to drug possession charges for Medina man

A 37 year old Medina man was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, unlawful possession of marijuana, moved from lane unsafely, failure to keep right, aggravated unlicensed operation in the 2nd degree, and operating without a license on July 11, 2018 following a routine traffic stop.

According to New York State Troopers, officers stopped Jason A. Sickles on Maple Ridge Rd. in the town of Shelby for moving from lane unsafely and failure to keep right.  Upon interview of Sickles, Troopers detected the odor of marihuana. Troopers observed Sickles holding a plastic bag in his hand to which he admitted contained heroin.  Sickles was placed under arrest and admitted to having an additional bag of heroin on his person.   Troopers located a small amount of marihuana in Sickles’ vehicle.  Further investigation of Sickles revealed he was driving on a suspended license.   Sickles was transported to SP Albion and processed.

Sickles was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Shelby Court for July 2018.
