AMHERST, N.Y. -- Citizens of Amherst, it's that time of year when you can dump household hazard materials around your house safely. On Sat. Aug 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Erie Community College, North Campus at 6205 Main St. Amherst.

What can be dropped off?  The following is a list of some of the items:

Pesticides, pool and household chemicals, lead batteries, propane tanks, oil based paint, kerosene, gasoline, paint cans (a 2 gallon limit), spray cans, pool and household chemicals.

Cars and other vehicles coming to drop materials off Saturday Aug. 11 at ECC-N campus, must enter through the Wehrle Drive entrance.
