Panama resident charged with multiple crimes during traffic stop

STAFF REPORTS

JAMESTOWN -- A 38-year-old Panama man was charged Tuesday with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, possessing a controlled substance in a non-original container, unlawful possession of marijuana and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

According to New York State Police, Clark was pulled over on Riverside Road in Jamestown for a traffic violation and while speaking to Clark, the Troopers smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. A search of Clark and his vehicle revealed a smoking device containing marijuana residue and a container with eight methadone pills and 10 lortabs, both controlled substances for which Clark did not have a prescription. A check of Clark’s driver’s license revealed six suspensions, one of which was for an alcohol related offense. Clark was placed under arrest and transported to SP Jamestown where he was processed. Clark was then released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the town of Kiantone Court later in the month.
