Niagara men's golf completes first 36 holes of Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate

VERONA, N.Y. -- The Niagara men's golf team completed the first two rounds of the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate, the premiere college golf event in the state of New York hosted by the University of Missouri, on Sunday.

Tyler Edholm led the Purple Eagles in his collegiate debut. Edholm fired a 76 (+4) in the first round and an 82 (+10) in the second round and finished the day with a total score of 158 (+14). He is tied for 76th place.

Matt Pawlak finished day one in 92nd place. He carded an 81 (+9) in the first round and an 84 (+12) in the second round for a 36-hole total of 165 (+21).

Eric MacLean shot an 86 (+14) on the first 18 holes and an 82 (+10) in round two, shaving four strokes off his round one total. MacLean finished the day in 95th place with a total score of 168 (+24).

In his debut with the Purple Eagles, Mike Tomczak cared an 87 (+15) in the first round. He shaved four strokes off his first round score to card an 83 (+11) in the second round for a total score of 170 (+26). Tomczak is tied for 96th place.

Ryan Mihok rounded out the Niagara quintet. He fired an 83 (+11) in the second round, shaving seven strokes off his first round score of 90 (+18). Mihok is in 100th place with a 36-hole total score of 173 (+29).

The team is in 18th place with a total team score of 660 (+84). The Purple Eagles carded a 330 (+42) in both the first and second rounds.

The Purple Eagles will play the final round of the tournament at Turning Stone Resort on Monday, Sept. 3. Round three will begin with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
