The Canisius men's soccer team takes to the road Wednesday looking to keep its playoff hopes alive when it squares off against Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foe Siena in a 2 p.m. matinee at the Siena Turf Field in Loudonville, N.Y.

With three games remaining on the regular season schedule, the Golden Griffins find themselves on the outside of the playoff bubble as they sit in eighth place, two spots back of the sixth and final playoff spot. The two teams occupying the final place in the league standings, Manhattan and Rider, are the final two opponents on the Griffs' regular-season schedule.

Last Time Out
• Saint Peter's sophomore Tom Coulson scored his first goal of the season and goalkeeper Jason Dubrovichmade five saves as the visiting Peacocks defeated Canisius 1-0 at the Demske Sports Complex on Oct. 20.
• Coulson's goal came in the 81st minute, as he was able to settle a pass from teammate Anton Moore in the box to beat Canisius keeper Bryce Tramuta inside the left post.
• The Griffs had a great chance to try and tie the game late, but Dubrovich kept the Blue and Gold off the scoreboard with a fantastic save off a header redirected on goal by Canisius senior Alex Grattarola in the 88th minute. • After the teams played a scoreless first half, Canisius controlled much of the play offensively in the second 45-minute session, as the Griffs out-shot the Peacocks, 11-5, after intermission. Canisius ended the night with an 18-14 advantage in shots and a 6-4 margin in corner kicks.
• Tramuta made two stops in goal for Canisius, which saw its three-game unbeaten streak (2-0-1) come to an end with the one-goal loss.
• Senior Hunter Walsh led Canisius with six shots on the night, while fellow senior Evan Walsh and junior Troy Brady each recorded three shots in the losing effort.

Scouting Siena
• The Saints head into Wednesday's matinee looking to halt a losing skid that stands at five matches following a 5-0 setback at Iona on Saturday.
• Aaron Martin paces a Siena attack that has managed just 11 goals in 15 games as he leads the squad in both goals (3) and points (8).
• Matt Crisafulli (2g, 1a) and Linus Johansson (1g, 3a) have provided additional scoring depth as they are tied for second on the team's scoring chart with five points each.
• In goal, Greg Monroe has started all 15 games for the Saints. He holds a 1.71 goals against average and a .719 save percentage in 1418 minutes of action this season.

Canisius-Siena Series Notes
• Wednesday's contest serves as the 31st meeting between the two programs.
• Siena holds a 16-11-3 advantage in the all-time series, including a 5-3-2 edge in the last 10 matchups.
• The sides have played to a draw in each of their last two meetings, including a 2-2 tie to open league play last October at the Demske Sports Complex.
