NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. -- After opening a five-match home stand Thursday night, the Niagara Purple Eagles continue play at home this weekend with a pair of conference matchups. Niagara starts the weekend against Marist on Oct. 20 before playing Siena on Oct. 21. Both matches are set to begin at 1:00 p.m.

Last Time Out
  • Niagara fell to Canisius in straight sets on Thursday in the first of two Battle of the Bridge matchups this season.
  • Against the Griffins, Jaycie Roberts had a team-leading nine kills to go along with nine digs.
  • Jessica Streuer led the team in assists and digs with 26 and 11, respectively. Streuer has recorded over 20 assists in her last 12 matches and has recorded double-digit digs in three of her last four matches.
  • Thursday's contest snapped Niagara's four-match winning streak against Canisius at home dating back to the 2014 season.

On the Court: Niagara Purple Eagles (6-14, 6-5 MAAC)
  • Caroline Leitch leads the Purple Eagles in kills, averaging 2.86 kills per set. She is eighth in the MAAC in kills.
  • Streuer leads the team in assists; she has tallied 568 total assists and averages 8.0 assists per set, which is the eighth-best in the MAAC.
  • Two Purple Eagles are among the conference leaders in digs this season. Emillie Wright is eighth in the conference (3.64 per set), while Jaycie Roberts is currently ninth (3.43 per set).
  • Overall, the Purple Eagles are fourth in the MAAC in hitting percentage (.186), fifth is assists (10.80 per set) and fifth in kills (11.49 per set).

Marist Red Foxes (11-9, 8-2 MAAC)
  • Marist currently has two of the top three leaders in the conference in hitting percentage. Chidera Udeh leads the team and the MAAC with a .351 hitting percentage, while Lauren Waide is currently third in the MAAC with a hitting percentage of .297.
  • Taylor VanDerBiezen leads the team and is second in the conference in service aces with 34.
  • Nikki DeSerpa,is third in the MAAC in kills, averaging 3.38 kills per set.
  • The Red Foxes lead the MAAC in blocks this season with an average of 1.99 per set. They are third in the conference in hitting percentage (.199) and service aces (1.47 per set).

Siena Saints (1-21, 0-10 MAAC)
  • Siena, who is still eyeing their first win in conference play this season, has been shutout in eight of their last nine matches. 
  • Jessica Eblin leads the team with 6.78 assists per set, which currently places ninth among the conference leaders.
  • Sunday's match will mark the first match back in the Gallagher Center for former Niagara head coach Villis Ozols. The current head coach at Siena, Ozols finished his career on Monteagle Ridge with a 61-89 record, including a 45-45 conference mark and four consecutive trips to the MAAC Championships.
