STAFF REPORTS

A 32-year-old Gerry man was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree, Harassment 2nd Degree, and Reckless Driving on October 31, 2018 following the report of a domestic disturbance.

According to New York State Troopers, officers responded to a residence in Ellington for a report of a domestic incident. Investigation revealed that Stephen Trusel pushed the female victim in the presence of a child, prompting the victim to call 911. Trusel then fled the scene but was later observed by Troopers on Gerry-Ellington Road. A traffic stop was attempted, but Trusel failed to comply and a pursuit was initiated. Trusel then crashed his vehicle and fled the accident scene. Trusel was located later in the day and placed under arrest.

Trusel was processed at SP Jamestown, arraigned in the town of Ellery Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
