Child pornography tip leads to sexual misconduct charges

STAFF REPORTS

CHEEKTOWAGA -- A 20-year-old Cheektowaga man was charged Friday with promoting a sexual performance of a child, sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child.

According to New York State Police, in April 2017, State Police received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for possible conduct of child pornography. After making initial contact with Terrill C. McLin in 2017 and reviewing downloaded data from electronic devices it was determined that a possible victim was established. On June 21, 2018, the BCI executed a search warrant of other devices from McLin to further the investigation process. It was determined that McLin, who was 19 at the time, had sexual contact with a 15-year-old male victim.
McLin was arrested and processed at SP Clarence and arraigned at the town of Cheektowaga Court were he was released on his recognizance.
