Oswego overpowers Buff State women’s lacrosse, 18-1

OSWEGO -- Oswego scored 17 unanswered goals to claim an 18-1 victory over visiting Buffalo State, eliminating the Bengals from playoff contention today in a SUNYAC contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Oswego opened the scoring just over a minute into the game, but Buffalo State responded a short time later with a tally by Jackie Dufresne (Lake View/Frontier)assisted by Kendall Skuse(Churchville/Churchville-Chili).
  • It was all the Lakers the rest of the way, however, as they closed out the first half with a 14-1 advantage and netted the only four goals of the second half.
  • Oswego held a 14-6 edge in draw controls and outshot the Bengals 26-12, including 25-5 on goal.
  • Janae Nelson (Elmont/Elmont Memorial) made with seven saves.
 
FOR THE FOES

  • Toni Laneve scored five goals for Oswego, and Molly Beck, Bridid Regin and Montana Garrett scored three each.
 
UP NEXT
Buffalo State will host Potsdam in another SUNYAC game on Saturday at 1 p.m.
