AMHERST TIMES: Interview With Lynne Dixon, Candidate for Erie County Executive

By James Tricoli
AMHERST TIMES

This morning I had the pleasure of interviewing Lynne Dixon for about an hour and a half. I had never met Lynne and didn't know what to expect from her.

The first thing I noticed was her zest to work to help the people she serves. She listed wanting to fix the infrastructure in the county. She knows this can't be done overnight but she wants to do as much as possible. She is on top of the problems in her district and tries to help her people in any way possible.

Lynne has four children who went to school in Williamsville, as she did. She said she felt the school systems in Erie County are in good shape.

She has fought for equal pay for both men and women doing the same job.
MsDixon feels power shouldn't be controlled only at the top while there are so many good people giving ideas to make the government run smoother. When you have a person who controls too many important parts of the government you are asking for trouble and can expect to have major problems.
Dixon mentioned she has worked at several different jobs since she was a teenager and even before that she babysat for two teachers.

She mentioned several different projects she worked on with the people in her district. She is a frequent visitor to the areas she represents and knows the problems which people face.
Lynne Dixon is one of those rare politicians who says what she means and will fight for the people of Erie County.
