AMHERST, N.Y. -- Amherst residents can dispose of their old TVs and computer monitors at an electronics recycling event later this month.
The event is open only to people who live in Amherst or the Village of Williamsville, with proof of residency required.

The limit is two TVs or monitors per vehicle. Amherst officials particularly want to help dispose of older-style TV sets or monitors that have cathode ray tubes, or CRTs, inside. The town will pay Sunnking a fee to remove and recycle the electronic waste.

People can drive up to and through the town's highway garage on the day of the recycling event.

Other electronics also will be accepted.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Highway Department's garage, 1042 N. Forest Road. Call 631-7117 for more information.
