RIVERDALE, N.Y. -- Berti Fourrier and Noah Amissah both scored and Connor Hayes made one save to lead Manhattan to a 2-0 victory over Canisius in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men's soccer action Saturday at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, N.Y.
The win improved the Jaspers' overall record to 12-5-0 and also upped their league ledger to 5-4-0 as they remained in the hunt for a spot in the 2018 MAAC Men's Soccer Championship. The loss dropped the Golden Griffins to 4-9-2 on the season and 2-6-1 in conference play.
After a scoreless first half, Fourrier opened the scoring at the 51:31 mark of the match, putting home a cross from Brandon Joseph-Buadi for his fourth of the campaign.
Amissah added an insurance marker for the Jaspers in the 88th minute, taking a pass from James Cotter and placing it into the lower right corner of the net for his fourth of the season.
That would be all the support Hayes would need as he stopped the only shot on goal from the Griffs in the contest, an attempt from freshman Jo Preci in the 60th minute.
Canisius keeper Bryce Tramuta recorded five saves in goal for the Griffs.
