CANISIUS OPENS FALL SEASON AT TURNING STONE
• The Canisius golf team officially opens the 2019-20 season Sept. 1-2, when the team travels to Verona, N.Y., to take part in the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate in Verona, N.Y.
• The Golden Griffins are starting their fall season at Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate for the fifth time in program history. This marks the Griffs first appearance in the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate field since 2013-14.
• The host Missouri Tigers are looking to secure their eighth-straight Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate team championship. This year's field is made up of 16 teams, including North Carolina, which starts the season ranked 23rd in the nation in the latest GCAA poll.

A LOOK AT THIS YEAR'S GRIFFS
• Canisius head coach Todd Hummel returns seven letterwinners from last year's squad that closed out the year by placing fifth at the 2019 MAAC Golf Championship.
• The roster features two seniors, four juniors, a sophomore and a freshman. Senior Jaret Chipman, the team's lone Canadian-born player, leads the program with 30 career collegiate tournaments to his credit.
• Fellow senior David Hanes, who recently finished tied for 21st at the 97th annual New York State Men's Amateur Golf Championship, became the first Canisius golfer in program history to participate in four-straight Porter Cup tournaments this past June.
• Sophomore Mike Donner finished his rookie campaign with the Griffs by placing 13th in the field at the 2019 MAAC Golf Championships, which was played at Disney's Magnolia Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
