Clark steps down as Canisius Women’s Soccer Coach

Todd Clark watches game from sidelines

STAFF REPORTS

Canisius Director of Athletics Bill Maher announced today that Todd Clark has stepped down as the school's head women's soccer coach to pursue other career opportunities.

"I would like to thank Todd for his service and commitment in leading our women's soccer program for the past six seasons," Maher said. "I wish him and his family the best of luck as they pursue future endeavors."

"Our entire experience in the Western New York community has been absolutely tremendous, and I want to be very clear that we are not leaving here, but rather going elsewhere based on family," Clark said. "I cannot thank Canisius enough for the past six years, but I am looking forward to joining with my wife as she takes on a new job in North Carolina. For years, she has followed my career and it is now time for me to follow hers.

"The culture of the team, the focus of the program and the ability to bring wonderful student-athletes to Canisius will be something I remember fondly. The players at Canisius are exceptional young ladies and I am certain they will be successful next fall. I want to thank my incredible staff, Ryan Louis and Gabrielle Wilson, along with all my colleagues at Canisius, particularly Director of Athletics Bill Maher, who have made my time on campus a pleasure.

"For the last time as a coach, but definitely not the last time as a fan, I say 'Go Griffs!'"

Assistant coach Ryan Louis (pronounced Louie) will serve as the program's interim head coach. A full search to replace Clark will begin after the Canisius campus re-opens following the current Coronavirus situation.
